MVTec offers two product categories, one may be considered as ´standard´ and for experienced users:


ActivVision Tools

and on the other hand rather ´special` more sophisticated for developers

Halcon

ActivVision Tools is a collection of parametrized imaging solutions for single-purpose applications, in which you just have to define the kind of application (e.g. OCR) , choose a camera, adjust some functional parameters - and it´s working. 

For every other, more complex application Halcon is the ideal imaging database.
