MIKROTRON GmbH was established in 1976 in Eching near Munich, Bavaria.
In the early days, the engineers developed electronic circuits and microprocessor programs. Despite the sustained increase of success in industrial image processing, the segment industrial electronic even today remains an important business segment of the company.
Already since 1979,MIKROTRON has also been active in the field of machine vision. With steady regard to the requirements on the market, industrial machine vision components have been developed ever since. In order to be able to offer fulfillment overall machine vision, high-speed cameras and high-speed recording systems for all types of application have been developed since the year 2000 to complete the product portfolio in this segment.
In January 2016 Ambienta, the largest European private equity fund specialised in environmental investments, purchased MIKROTRON. Together with Tattile and Chromasens, MIKROTRON now constitutes the core of LakeSight Technologies. The consolidation project aims at building a European leader in the machine vision sector.
Today, MIKROTRON is a renowned manufacturer of small and especially robust high-speed cameras on the international market of industrial image processing. The digital high-speed cameras have excellent technical characteristics, e.g. with regard to resolution and photo sensitivity, and are being used for industrial and scientific applications, as well as in sports analysis, advertisements or documentaries.
Our broad scope of products is on the one hand result of consequently developing camera technology with an innovative team of engineers and computer scientists. On the other hand the experience from development, production, sales, service and support is integrated into the production process. It is important to us, to realize the needs of our customers and to fully understand their desired applications in order to be able to provide tailor-made solutions with our high-speed cameras.

Diplom-Kaufmann Christian Pilzer is Managing Director at MIKROTRON GmbH since May 2011. His career started in one of the Big Four auditing companies. Eversince he has been working in several managerial positions. At last, he was Director Finance & Controlling at a leading manufacturer of navigation systems.
